Benoît Delbecq The Weight of Light FILM 54mn (international version)
Ten years after the release of Circles and Calligrams, Delbecq's second solo piano record which was awarded a Grand Prix du Disque from the prestigious Charles Cros Academy as well as a unanimous international praise (Best of 2010 from the New York Times, Le Monde etc.), the parisian pianist entered the Studio de Meudon on March 12, 2020 to record his new solo works, the fruit of several years of obstinate preparation. The film immerses us in the intimacy of the recording and invites us to hear and see the chiseling of a music that is both bewitching and cristal clear. Excerpts from two interviews have been added to these privileged moments, one at his home in Bondy, the other at Bureau de Son Paris, two interviews bringing light on the genesis of his compositions, on what drives him, on his artist path.
